Ein großer Ziegenbock stellt unser Leben Kopf!

(Teil 2)

From day to day the little guy gets cuter and cuter and we have grown quite fond of him. He follows us around wherever we go and calls us as soon as he loses sight of us. In these first days of his life his most important job is to never lose his souce of milk. But he also soon learns that when we have to leave him we also come back.

We read a lot of books and reports on how to raise goats and also get help from friends and even from Flocke himself. And so the once planned one month on Andros soon gets extended to three great months. We might have sacrificed our Cyclades-round-trip, but the islands will also be there some time in the future for us to visit. Anyway that will be much nicer by sailboat than with the camper.

But as easter and also our final days on Andros creep closer we have to find a solution for the little one. A farmer on the Island is no viable option anymore as we learn that little billy goats are good for slaughtering and eating for easter. This is indeed very tasty, but not our little baby! After a lengthy search we find him a new home on the main land at a cafe that runs horse stables and a little petting zoo. This way he will be able to persue is favorite activities: Eating and being petted! We learn that he has new company in the form of two female goats and they must have lured him in as he is no longer that interested in humans 🙂

We wish him a great new life in his little mini herd and his new home!

PS: Here is the link to part 1 if you missed it 🙂

"Goat "Goat

"Well
Well Mark, guess that seat is taken!

Tja Mark, dein Kissen ist nun belegt!

"Unfortuately
Unfortuately he caught some lice and we had to treat his fur. Afterwards he has to shake himself and bring everything back into order.

After we burn the trimmings from the garden we often make potatos in the hot coals. Flocke immediately looks for a warm spot by the fire. And he is sooo tired!

"Then
Then he’s always very sleepy and his white fur turns a lovely ash grey….. 🙂

"And
And if only one looks away for just a second, both run into the house. Mark’s job on the side: Security guard!

"Outside
Outside the sulking starts.
