After the rainy days on the Kullen peninsula we sailed also on a rainy day towards Torekov. The weather forecast for the next days said there was going to be very much wind ahead. And because we needed some important things from home by mail including our ballots for the election of the German parliament, we decided to stay in Torekov for a couple of days. We did some boat work and organized a place for our winter haul out. A good thing to do, when the first storm of the autumn is passing by, while we are in a sheltered harbor! From time to time the sun came out. We enjoyed Torekov with its gentle people, the small island of Hallands V\u00e4der\u00f6 and plenty of rainbows. In our pictures you’ll mostly see good weather conditions, but trust us, there was a lot of rainy and stormy weather, in which we hid in our snail shell and had a cozy time on the boat.<\/p>\n

Nach einigen Regentagen auf dem Kullen segeln wir auch an einem Regentag nach Torekov. Der Wetterbericht sagte allerdings sehr viel Wind f\u00fcr die n\u00e4chsten Tage voraus. Und weil wir einige wichtige Dinge von zu Hause per Post ben\u00f6tigen, vor allem unsere Briefwahlunterlagen f\u00fcr die Bundestagswahl, entscheiden wir uns, den Sturm auzusitzen und einige Tage in Torekov Station zu machen. Wir k\u00f6nnen einige Bootsarbeiten erledigen und organisieren einen Winterplatz f\u00fcr unsere Lady! Das ist eine gute Aufgabe, w\u00e4hrend der erste Herbststurm \u00fcber uns hinwegzieht und wir in einem sehr gesch\u00fctzten Hafen liegen k\u00f6nnen. Ab und zu gibt es aber doch sonnige Momente und wir genie\u00dfen Torekov und seine freundlichen Menschen und die kleine Insel Hallands V\u00e4der\u00f6 sowie jede Menge Regenb\u00f6gen. In unseren Photos sieht man deshalb meist nur gutes Wetter. Aber glaubt uns, es gab jede Menge Regen und viel viel Wind, w\u00e4hrend wir es uns im Boot gem\u00fctlich machen. The prettiest boat in the harbor, don’t you think? This is the innermost harbor basin, in summer it is packed at least 3 boats deep from all sides. In September we are almost the only ones. On the shores of Torekov and the island Hallands V\u00e4dero many ships have perished or have been purposely stranded. This hall reminds the wary visitor with all the nameplates from the lost ships of the losses at sea. Vor Torekov und Hallands V\u00e4dero strandeten viele Schiffe und deren Namensplaketten erinnern in dieser kleinen Ausstellung noch an sie. <\/div> <\/div> <\/div> <\/div>

Torekov has many secluded little alleys with old houses, many built with the timber from the sunken ships. Torekov hat einige einladende Stra\u00dfen mit b\u00fcbschen H\u00e4usern. <\/div> <\/div>

A guy from the local restaurant told us that the property prices have soared in recent years due to the rich an wealthy finding an interest in the small town. …und G\u00e4rten. Ein Restautrantbetreiber erz\u00e4hlte uns jedoch, dass die Grunds\u00fcckspreise in letzter Zeit stark gestiegen sind und \u00fcberwiegend Wohlhabende zuziehen. <\/div> <\/div>

These English chimney dogs remind us of the ones we saw in Stralsund. However there are so many here that we han hardly count them all. Die englischen Kaminhunde kennen wir auch vereinzelt aus Stralsund, doch die Hunde-Dichte in den Fenstern ist hier um einiges gr\u00f6\u00dfer. <\/div> <\/div> <\/div>

Dine used the time to do a little jogging and to make friends with some cows and sheep along the way. Dine nutzte die Zeit und die tolle K\u00fcste zum Joggen und hat sich dabei auch mit Schafen und einer Kuh angefreundet. <\/div> <\/div> <\/div>

Right next to (or rather right in the middle) of the nicest scenery: Golf. Sweden’s national sport it seems. Direkt neben dem sch\u00f6nsten St\u00fcckchen Natur gibt es hier immer wieder Golfpl\u00e4tze. Golf ist Volkssport in Schweden. <\/div> <\/div> <\/div> <\/div>

In the middle of the forest an ancient graveyard. The people of the mainland used to bury unknown sailors here. As it wasn’t know which religion they had they were buried here as not to disgrace the holy and christian graveyard near the mainland church. Mitten im Wald komen wir am alten Friedhof vorbei. Hier haben die Menschen aus Torekov unbekannte Menschen bestattet, welche bei Schiffsungl\u00fccken starben. Da man nicht wusste, ob es Christen waren, wurden die Leichen nicht auf dem christlichen Friedhof in Torekov bestattet, sondern auf der Insel. <\/div> <\/div> <\/div>

Gimme a Kiss! Some areas were fenced off to protect the newly grown trees from the raging rabbits on the island. After a while we even came across this couple. K\u00fc\u00dfchen! Im Wald waren einige Bereiche abgez\u00e4unt, um die jungen B\u00e4ume vor gefr\u00e4\u00dfigen Hasen zu sch\u00fctzen. Wir haben dann am Waldrand auch tats\u00e4chlich zwei gesehen! <\/div> <\/div> <\/div> <\/div>

But somehow we always had to think about our Lizzy, left behind on her leash like an abandoned dog. Did she also miss us or enjoy the sunny day by herself? In the south western part of the island there is a no go zone made for the seals, many of which visited our boat on the other side.

Im S\u00fcdwesten der Insel gibt es sogar ein Naturschutzgebiet, das ganzj\u00e4hrig gesperrt ist f\u00fcr jegliche Nutzung. Die Robben erobern aber alle Seiten der Insel und kommen auch regelm\u00e4\u00dfig an unserem Boot vorbei. <\/div> <\/div> <\/div> <\/div>
