During the last legs off the coast of Halland we encounter a lot of harbour porpoises. On one of our tours we even experienced five sightings with two to five animals each! They seam to be mostly hunting and eating and dove very frequently and regularly. On another tour, we even met three curious porpoises who were interested in our boat and came very close, up to within one meter. One of them was a juvenile, which always remained very close to its mother. They swam after us, explored our boat and finally overtook us. Our Lizzy is not the fastest, she was probably too slow and boring for them. But we enjoy her slow pace \u2013 mostly \ud83d\ude09 \"\"<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Auf unseren letzten Seeetappen vor Halland konnten wir noch sehr viele Schweinswale sehen. Auf einer Tour erlebten wir f\u00fcnf Sichtungen mit jeweils mit zwei bis f\u00fcnf Tieren! Die kleinen T\u00fcmmler, wie sie hier in Schweden genannt werden, waren meist am Jagen und Fressen und tauchten sehr h\u00e4ufig. Auf einer anderen Tour trafen wir sogar auf drei neugierige Schweinswale, die Interesse an unserem Boot hatten und bis auf einen Meter ran kamen. Sie hatten sogar ein Jungtier dabei, welches immer ganz nah an seiner Mutter blieb. Sie schwammen uns nach und \u00fcberholten uns schlie\u00dflich. Unsere Lizzy ist eben nicht die schnellste, das war ihnen wohl zu langweilig. Aber daf\u00fcr haben wir es meistens sehr gem\u00fctlich \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n

While foraging, the little Porpoises don’t seem very bothered with our ship.Here it looks as if they are diving towards eachother.

Wenn die Schweinswale grad beim Jagen und Fressen sind, interessieren sie sich gar nicht f\u00fcr unser Boot. Hier scheinen sie aufeinander zuzuschwimmen, sie tauchen sehr h\u00e4ufig und regelm\u00e4\u00dfig. <\/div> <\/div> <\/div> <\/div>

Often Porpioses are just briefly seen on the surface. Luckily we already have some practice in photographing them and know when and where to aim the camera at the right moment!

Schweinswale sind meist nur kurz an der Oberfl\u00e4che zu sehen. Zum Gl\u00fcck hatten wir oft genug \u00dcbungsm\u00f6glichkeiten, um im richtigen Moment auf den Ausl\u00f6ser zu dr\u00fccken! <\/div> <\/div> <\/div>

Suddenly we see a shaddow dash under our boat and you can see he is on his side in orderr to get a better look at us. What a sight!

We’re also there for the start of the Lobster season and see lots of fishermen steer their lobster fishing boats out of the harbor. Out on the waters, we bump into the result: An unlit and very small bouy only seen at last second.

Wir erleben auch den Start der Hummer-Fangsaison und sehen viele Hummerfischer aus dem Hafen fahren. Unterwegs sehen wir das Ergebnis. Dies ist die Markierung eines Hummerfangkorbes, ohne F\u00e4hnchen erst sp\u00e4t zu sehen. <\/div> <\/div> <\/div> <\/div>

If you look closely you can make out dozens of lobster buoys we have to sail around in a zigzag fashion. Soon we switch to motor since it’s impossible to sail. We’d love to free some of the poor lobsters, but there are soo many traps!

Wer genau hinschaut, sieht hier unz\u00e4hlige Hummerfangk\u00f6rbe, welche wir im Zickzack umfahren. DieserKurs ist unter Segeln kaum zu schaffen, wir fahren lieber unter Motor. Es reizt uns ja schon, die Hummer zu befreien, aber es sind so viele K\u00f6rbe…. <\/div> <\/div> <\/div>

We experience the first taste of the sweden archipelagos and pass many little “inhabited” islands.

We notice the seals only at second glance since we are so occupied with navigating the narrow channels between the rocks. Some of the seals have jumped into the water and follow us with their bobbing heads.

Wir sehen die Robben auf den Felsen erst sp\u00e4t, weil wir mit der Seekarte besch\u00e4ftigt sind, um den Weg durch die Felsen zu finden. Einige Seehunde gehen lieber schutzsuchend ins Wasser und strecken dann aber neugierig die K\u00f6pfe aus dem Wasser. <\/div> <\/div> <\/div>

We can smell this little island a far bit off. Cormorants and seagulls have occupied this one! We anchor nearby and see how the island gets overpopulated at each dawn when the birds come back to sleep. It’s a wonder anybird can sleep with all that chattering!

Es riecht sehr viel strenger, als wir diesen “bewohnten” Vogelfelsen passieren. Kormorane und M\u00f6wen teilen sich den Platz. Wir ankern in der N\u00e4he und beobachten, wie sich der Felsen am Abend unter lautem Gezeter f\u00fcllt. <\/div> <\/div> <\/div> <\/div> <\/div>\n
