We’re conquering Copenhagen
Unser vorerst letzter Stopp in Dänemark ist Kopenhagen und wir erkunden diese sehenswerte Stadt einen ganzen Tag lang per pedes. Also raus der Bootsenge und rein ins Getümmel der Stadt! Gemeinsam mit unendlich vielen Touristen, auch aus den zahlreichen Kreuzfahrtschiffen, schieben wir uns von einer Sehenswürdigkeit zur nächsten. Und doch finden wir auch Ecken, die weniger überlaufen sind. Unser Favorit: Der botanische Garten, kurz vor Schließzeit. Wenn du Lust hast, dann komm ein Stück mit auf unserer Photo-Tour! 
Our last stop in Denmark is Copenhagen and we explore this beautiful city for a whole day on foot. So out of the boat and into the hustle and bustle of the city! Together with an infinite number of tourists, including the numerous cruise ships, we are moving from one sight to another. And yet we also find corners that are less crowded. Our favorite: the botanical garden, just before closing time. If you feel like it, come join us on our photo tour!
Quickly we recognize the colorful house fronts of shops and cafes from the prospects. In der City erkennen wir die bunten Häuserzeilen mit den vielen Lokalen aus den Werbeprospekten gleich wieder.
We’re not quite used to the sheer quantity of tourists. Wir werden nur etwas von der Menge der Touristen erschlagen.
Many old sailing vessels lie in the channels. In den Kanälen liegen viele Segelboote, hauptsächlich Traditionsschiffe.
Many nice photo opportunities for Mark. Mark findet viele schöne Motive.
Later on we find the reason for all the tourists: Cruise ships! Even one with sails. Doch später finden wir auch die Ursache der vielen Touristen: Kreuzfahrtschiffe! Sogar eines mit Segeln.
At the Charlottenburg Art exhibition the artist Ai Weiwei has obscured the windows with thousands of life vests from the countless refugees that cross the Mediterranean. We have see this depressing installation before, only in Berlin and this recognise it at a glance. An der Kunsthalle Charlottenborg hat der Künstler Ai Weiwei die Fenster mit Schwimmwesten von Geflüchteten aus dem Mittelmeer verbarrikadiert. Wir hatten diese nachdenklich machende Installation schon am Berliner Konzerthaus gesehen und erkennen sie gleich wieder.
This band of super heroes watches over the city from an windowsill. Dieses Superhelden-Trio schaut zum Fenster herraus.
Occasionally we sneak into the many staircases 😉 Manchmal haben wir uns in die schönen Treppenhäuser geschlichen 🙂
Hungry? Thirsty? (the fish looks a bit off) Hunger? Durst?
We are quickly lured into the sticky and soft Danish red light district. Schnell zieht es uns in die verführerische dänische rotlichtzone.

Many a mermaid greets us, this one looks very mean though. (and the occasional octopus) Wir finden immer wieder kleine Meerjungfrauen! (auch der gelegentliche Oktopus)
And in many variations. In verschiedensten Ausführungen.
Until we finally find the original little mermaid perched on a rock still waiting for her prince. Endlich finden wir die eine kleine Meerjungfrau, die immer noch auf ihren Prinzen wartet.
And this is what it looks like when all the tourists want to get a picture for the photoalbum. Und so sieht es aus, wenn alle Touris solch ein Bild fürs Fotoalbum machen möchten.
At the Amalienborg palice plaza the can watch as the guards change watches. Am Amalienborg Schlossplatz beobachten wir die königliche Leibgarde bei der Wachablösung.
In the event of a war these royal guard are supposed to defent the city. Im Kriegsfall soll die königliche Garde die Stadt Kopenhagen verteidigen.
At a closer glance we can see that it’s the young recruits that get to do this ungrateful job in the summers sun. And covered with bear fur hats. Beim Näherkommen sehen wir, dass wohl der Nachwuchs Ende August in der Sommersonne diese undankbare Aufgabe mit Bärenfellmützen bekommen hat.
Next door we visit the rokoko style marble church. Wir besichtigen gleich nebenan die Marmorkirche im Rokoko-Stil.

We are all dust in the wind! Wir sind nur Staub im Wind.
At the Kastellet we come across the fountain of nordic godess Gifjon. It stands for the mythical creation of the island of Zeeland. After which the King of Sweden granted Gifjon all the land she could plow in a single night. She immediately turned her 4 sons into oxen and plowed away. The earth she upturned got thrown into the sea between Fyn and Skane, now Zeeland and the trench left behind is now a lake west of Stockholm. Am Kastellet finden wir diesen Springbrunnen mit der nordischen Göttin Gefion. Er steht für die mythische Entstehung der Insel Seeland. Demnach versprach der schwedische König Gylfi Gefion, dass sie alles Land behalten könne, welches sie in einer Nacht pflügen könne. Daraufhin verwandelte sie ihre vier Söhne in Ochsen. Die gepflügte Erde wurde ins Meer zwischen Fünen und Skåne geworfen, so entstand die Insel Seeland. Das entstandene Loch ist nun ein See westlich von Stockholm.

Crystal Red? Of course we find lots of aquatic life in the many ponds. Natürlich finden wir auch im botanischen Garten Wassertierchen, wie zum Beispiel diese hübsche Garnele!

Such a long sight seeing tour sure makes you hungry. Unfortunately one can’t afford much beside bread 😉 So ein langer Sightseeing-Tag macht seehr hungrig!!
